Titanium alloy powder is flammable and explosive. It should be stored in a dry environment at room temperature, away from fire and direct sunlight, and sealed. The storage environment needs to be equipped with D-type fire extinguisher to prevent emergency.

 

If the titanium alloy powder is not properly stored and its fluidity is affected by moisture, the powder can be put into a vacuum drying oven and heated to 80 ℃ ° C for 1 hour. After cooling to room temperature, sieve again to restore its fluidity.

 

Titanium alloy powder may cause harm to human health. In order to operate safely and keep healthy, it is suggested to take the following protective measures when contacting with powder: wear plastic gloves to prevent skin from contacting with powder;

 

Preparation before processing titanium alloy powder:

The substrate must be made of titanium alloy. If the substrate made of carbon steel or stainless steel is used, the wettability of different materials and the adhesion between components and substrate will be weakened. Before the treatment, first use the grinder to smooth the substrate, and then sandblast the upper surface to obtain a good powder distribution effect and make the bond more firm.

The shielding gas must be high purity argon. The room where the metal 3D printing titanium alloy powder machine is located shall be equipped with air conditioning and dehumidifier to ensure proper ambient temperature, air circulation and drying.

3D data processing: when adding support to parts, it is recommended to use thicker metal support to make the support more stable, prevent warpage and promote heat conduction; The thickness of the slice is preferably 25-35 μ m。

After the titanium alloy powder is processed, it needs to be cooled for 10-20 minutes, and then the forming chamber is opened to prevent the formed parts and powder at high temperature from being oxidized or spontaneous combustion when meeting air.

At the same time, it is necessary to use an explosion-proof vacuum cleaner filled with water to suck the residual powder which is difficult to clean in the treatment room.
